SSMS leaders in Ms. Pettry’s class effectively collaborated to explore the question, Citizenship in Athens and Rome: Which Was the Better System?
During the process of DBQ, students collaborate to analyze a variety of primary and secondary source documents. The students engage in rich dialogue to examine point of view, context, and reliabilty of sources to create an argumentative thesis.
Through this rigorous activity, our students were also demonstrating the use of Habits 1,2, 5, and 6. Way to integrate leadership and rigorous academics!
WILDLY IMPORTANT GOALS FOR 15-16
Goal 1: Each Quarter, 70% of SSMS students will pass the ELA exam with a “C” or above
Goal 2: SSMS will reduce the number of students who miss five or more days of school during the year by 50%
Goal 3: SSMS will reduce the number of referrals which result in ISS and OSS by 10%
BEGINNING WITH THE END IN MIND!
