SSMS students STORMed at the Sanford Christmas Parade this past Saturday, December 10th.
SSMS hosted the Class Athlete Holiday Festival on Sunday, December 11th! So many wonderful events were provided for the community, to include raising over $800 and donating over 40 toys to 54 students being sponsored. #STORM
SSMS Lighthouse students, teachers, and community members take some time to Sharpen the Saw to celebrate their milestones thus far this school year, in addition to selecting the theme for Leadership Day! #synergy #STORM #sharpenthesaw
The 6th grade Student Lighthouse Team conducted a toy drive for the holiday season. The toys will be donated to Seminole Uniserv who will distribute the toys to children in Seminole County.
Thanks, Ms. Cabanillas Del-Real’s Leadership Academy, for doing an extraordinary collaborative project to help the homeless where they synergized to create Holiday Stockings and bags filled with candy, instant soup, tooth brushes, socks, gummies, tissues, and cereal bars. #leaders

Thanks, Mr. Cudney, for accompanying several students from the SSMS Strategy Club Leadership Academy to a free Pokémon and Magic the Gathering tournament hosted by Mana Tide Games. This event was held to foster critical thinking skills, collaboration, and good sportsmanship. Students utilized skills obtained during their time in the leadership academy to conduct a positive social competition. The students competed in multiple rounds and were awarded prizes based on their ranking. One student received a limited edition Pokémon lunchbox while one of the Magic the Gathering players won a booster pack that contained a $70 ultra-rare foil card.The Strategy Club Leadership Academy would like to thank Mana Tide Games in Winter Park for hosting this event and providing prizes free of charge to our SSMS students.
SSMS band gave an amazing performance tonight for the Winter Concert. Thanks to all our Hurricane faculty who also helped with the performances or narrations and the many Hurricanes and family members who came out to support our amazing Hurricanes! #STORM #synergize #LEADbyexample
Mr. Ault’s Teen Leadership class had a real-world experience today when they participated in mock interviews. Students were asked multiple questions as if they were interviewing for a JCPenny position. Thanks to our JCPenny guest interviewer, Ms. Ault!
